A TRC-20 USDT transfer incurs a network fee of either 13.74 TRX (about $1.61) or 27.6 TRX (about $3.22) for first-time recipient addresses. The fee is fixed regardless of the USDT amount — sending $10 costs the same as sending $10,000. This flat fee structure means percentage costs are much higher on small transfers, so batching transfers where possible is recommended.
To reduce your USDT TRC-20 fee, you can obtain Energy through staking TRX, renting Energy from a provider, or using wallets that support Gas-Free USDT transfers. Gas-Free mode deducts the fee in USDT directly, eliminating the need to hold any TRX balance. Wallets like TronLink and Klever currently support this feature.
